Cuomo V. Paladino: Environmental Issues

I choose environment as a topic for the election because I thought that they have some idea related to economics. Paladino wanted to do the Marcellus Shale. He believes that drilling for new resource provides opportunity for new jobs. On the other hand, Cuomo wanted to make sure that New York was clean, and wanted to find other resource that are not expensive. He opposed the Marcellus Shale. I would stick to Cuomo’s idea because New York’s Marcellus Shale needed to be checked. Although Paladino has a good idea about the project, there was some doubt where it can be expensive.

Andrew Cuomo vs Carl Paladino on housing

Andrew Cuomo and Carl paladino have a rather different approach on housing.  Andrew Cuomo believes that that discrimination has a lot to do with housing.  Andrew Cuomo stated” discrimination is alive and well in America today”’.  He also said "In life and society, you will never solve a problem you're unwilling to admit," Cuomo said. "We don't want to admit that we discriminate." I agree with him because many landlords do not give housing to certain people because of their race, ethnicity or religion. Single woman and young parents are often told that a building doesn’t want to rent to families with children. That is considered illegal under federal, state and local housing laws. Over the last few years, the attorney general's office has conducted more than 200 tests in neighborhoods around the state. Trained testers, some black and some white, presented similar income and career profiles at apartment complexes and recorded the treatment they received. Andrew Cuomo is going after lawbreakers in the housing business, and he plans to fix the housing process in every neighborhood in New York. Carl paladino blames Andrew Cuomo for housing bubble. He held Cuomo individually responsible for the housing bubble by pressuring the Federal Housing Authority and housing finance giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac to promote greater home ownership by reducing mortgage standards. He blames Andrew Cuomo for all problems faced in housing. I would agree with Andrew Cuomo about this topic because he actually has a solution to this problem. I feel that Carl paladino is basically causing a bigger problem rather then giving a solution. I chose to research about this topic because I feel it is very important to everyone loving in New York. There are many people that have face a problem with their landlord, or even getting an apartment. I fell this issues should be taken seriously. I believe Andrew Cuomo will be better for New York.

Paladino vs Cuomo on Abortion

Abortion has become a huge issue in the United States over the last couple years. Women have become pregnant at such young ages that they are unfit to care of their children.  I think abortion is a good thing  because I think women should have the right to give their children a good life. New York Governor candidates Carl Paladino and Andrew Cuomo both have different views on Abortion. Carl Paladino is against abortion. That is because he practices catholic and he doesn't believe in abortion. Andrew Cuomo is for abortion and supports the bill for abortion. The reason why i chose this issue is because it is so controversial and it's happening to a lot of people. I also feel for the people who are unable to reach their lifetime goal because they have to take care of a child. I think abortion should be allowed because i think children deserve the best life possible.

Gay Marriage.. Cuomo vs Paladino

Gay Marriage is a controversial issue that has been debated about for several decades. Gays have been stripped from their rights; they can not marry, they do not get benefits and many other rights. The pro gay marriage side argues that gay marriage is just a life style and ones decision whether they should or should not marry. The anti-gay marriage group feels as if it is unconstitutional for homesexual marriage. Republican Carl Paladino is completly against gay marriage and he even states that he felt discusted when he seen the gay pride parade. Does New York need a governor whose against gays getting their rights which they desereve ? Democrat Andrew Cuomo argues of giving gays their rights, which is a step closer to equality. Once blacks and women did not have their rights, but both partys fought strong to acheieve their rights; if we have a governor whom disagrees with giving gays their rights, it is taking a step back from equality.

paladino vs cuomo on job creation..

Democrat Andrew Cuomo has a better idea on how to fix the issue of unemplyed New Yorkers for many reasons, mostly because his plan makes sense opposed to Paladino whom only plans to reduce taxes by ten percent and state spending by 20 percent, without having and plan behind it. Candiate Andrew Cuomo propses the idea of giving buisness which hire a unemplyed New Yorker up to three-thousand dollers in credit. He also hopes to reduce the high costs of state buisness and attempt to expand small buinsess. Cuomo is trying to lower the energy costs as well.

cuomo's plan oneducation

Andrew Cuomo is considering an educations plat that encourages charter growth, funding cuts. Andrew Cuomo said he would require charter schools to increase their enrollment of special education and English learning students.  He focuses on improving efficiency of education spending by reducing mandates. We do not like his plan because his education platform is vey weak. There have been many criticisms about him being to close and backing charters, more testing and the de-professionalization of teaching.  It is clear that Cuomo is comfortable with unlimited expansion of charters in urban districts. Carl paladino does not want unlimited charters. His plans are similar to Andrew Cuomo’s plan but they each take their plans of success a different way.

Paladinos plan for the future education

We feel as if Paladino's plan for the education system in future is solid and would help future generations have a higher percentage of graduates going to college. In his past, he helped many poor school such as St. Luke's Mission of Mercy School which many poor and homeless students attend; he raised millions of dollars for the school. Paladino desires to extend the school year and school hours in which teachers teach. He wants to expand the mathematic and science subjects for all students. This gives students the opportunity to comprehend the subject better. One of Paladinos best proposals is to make sure that all religions get treated the same in the school system, which creates equality. Paladino also wants to change the law from NY state only being allowed to have 200 charter schools to 500 charter schools, which gives more children the opportunity to enroll in a charter school. We feel as if his plan would change the education system for the better and increase the graduation rate.
